8 Passenger Vehicles

The Toyota Sienna (2010) is one of many 8 passenger vehicles and has been designated as one of the best. The Toyota Sienna comes in a number of models which includes: SE, LE, XLE and limited. Style and price may vary but it is considered a “robust quality means of transportation” where 8 passenger vehicles are concerned. Perfectly suited for families (there’s space for storage) its comfortable and able to carry heavy loads too.

Finding 8 passenger vehicles is not a problem. Most full-size, truck based SUV’s and vans work quite well with a third row. There is always the question of mpg. With such a large vehicle you will get approximately 20-25 mpg. The Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon (8 passenger vehicles) will have hybrid adaptation which should allow 20 mpg capabilities.

GMC Yukon

Honda Odyssey

Some minivans can lug eight people with mileage of 20-25 mpg. The 2007 Honda Odyssey (along with the Toyota Sienna) have EPA ratings of 17 city/24 highway mpg when utilizing the EPA’s 2008 testing system.

Honda Pilot

The Honda Pilot is another 8 passenger vehicle but the mpg comes up a bit short. Fitting three comfortably in the back seat may depend on how large the individuals are. Rumor has it that its better for children than adults when trying to seat eight.

Dodge Sprinter

The Dodge Sprinter is another vehicle that can easily holds 8 passengers. Its three liter V6 diesel powered but 20 mpg is not unheard of. Identified as the “crossover triplets” the Outlook, Acadia and Enclave from GM get good mileage ratings and are a great alternative to full-size SUV or minivans.

Chevy Venture

The Chevy Venture (2000) seats eight passengers and has the extended cab and a larger engine for towing. For city driving it has 28 mpg but for rural driving 32 miles per gallon is the norm. Crossover SUVs can be an alternative to a minivan, but still function like one. The Toyota Highlander is a unique example for this type of option.

Chevrolet Suburbans

You also have your heavy-duty haulers like Chevrolet Suburbans and Ford Expedition EL.

Or full size vans like the GMC Savana or Ford E-150. The large vans are in the league of commercial sizes. They will have more interior room for up to 15 passengers even, but you better know how to drive an eighteen foot long, three ton van. It’s quite a lot to handle.

Here is a short list of minivans, crossover SUVs, traditional SUVs and vans that can handle at least eight passengers:

Minivans-Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey

Crossover SUVs-GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook and Buick Enclave

Full Size SUVs-Lexus LX 560, Nissan Armada and Infiniti OX56

All mentioned vehicles have adequate space for large passenger comfort and reasonable mpg for their size.
